Cori Ellingson was born, raised and lived most of her life in the Peace River Country in Northern BC and Alberta, Canada. Growing up in a large family of unique, free thinkers opened the door to worlds of possibilities. Deeply philosophical, she tended to put pen to paper and with the remoteness of the north, books became her doorway to the world.

A lifelong learner, Cori has immersed herself in various studies from health and personal growth to spirituality. As a stay at home mother on a grain farm, she had her part in raising three wonderful children, while riding horses, gardening and living close to the earth. Learn More.

Cori is a fun loving, free spirit. She has a passion for embracing the adventure of life and finds ways to live rich and full experiences. One of her big loves is travel, exploring the world off the beaten path, connecting with people from all walks of life.

Journeying many times to the Big Island to study the mysterious lives of ancient Hawaiians started her on a Shamanic path in the early 1990s. Being present with Hawaiian drumming and chanting invites one to open their heart and connect with the Divine Mother. This was powerful and life changing for her. Learning ancient chants, dances and how to listen to the natural world opened her eyes to new possibilities and helped her begin to take responsibility for all aspects of her own life.

Cori’s fascination with Indigenous wisdom stayed strong as she studied the ancient Medicines of South America. Focusing on the wisdom of Peru, taught as a Medicine Wheel, she became a Mesa carrier, working on her own healing and learning how to build sacred healing fires to benefit all.

Cori had a calling for many years to embark on a vision quest, a common experience for indigenous peoples around the world. When the time was right, a native elder came into her life to guide her. This solitary two-day, magical journey in the mountains with no food or tent is detailed in her book, “Vision Quest, A Spiritual Awakening.”

Her studies expanded as she learned about and built a Medicine Bundle and Spirit Drum in Plains Native traditions of North America. Opening a Bundle is a powerful ceremonial day to focus on community, sharing and healing.

In the late 2000s, her last surviving aunt revealed a family secret before she died. Cori’s birth family has First Nations roots through their Maternal Grandmother. Her thirst to connect with Indigenous wisdom for so many years took on new meaning and the learning continues.

Cori currently spends a lot of time traveling in various places in Canada, Mexico and Central America, offering various healing circles and Earth honoring ceremonies.
